Psalm 53 in my own words

Stupidity to the depraved leads to knowledge.
Humility and honor taste foul in the mouths of arrogant men.
Only the lowest of fools would claim “there is no God!”

Read: Exodus 21-25; Psalm 37-42; Mark 13-14

66While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came by. 67When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked closely at him. “You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus,” she said. 68But he denied it. “I don’t know or understand what you’re talking about,” he said, and went out into the entryway.

Exodus 16-20; Psalm 37-42; Mark 10-12

Today Erin and I took a different approach to the reading of our scriptures. On the way to church Erin read Exodus out-loud. Hearing the passages spoken makes a difference. I was able to enjoy the story rather than push through an intellectual exercise. A particularly moving section she read was the interaction between Jethro and Moses. It takes up all of chapter 18.

Read: Exodus 1-5; Psalm 19-24; Mark 1-3 Today, I came across a passage that I have wrestled with for quite some time. The application of a passage is very difficult if the interpretation is wrong. “And his mother and brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. And a crowd was [...]

Read: Gen. 46-50; Psalm 13-18; Matt. 27-28 Today I finished Genesis and Matthew very cool. Three down, sixty-three more books to go. Tonight I had a very good and thought provoking conversation with a friend about our differing theological views. We discussed God’s sovereignty and man’s free will. We talked about the scope of Jesus’ [...]
